Johnson & Johnson MedTech seeks a Senior Human Factors Engineer for the OTTAVA Robotic Surgical System in Cincinnati, Ohio. The role involves leading human factors strategy and usability efforts across a sophisticated surgical robotics platform, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure devices meet user needs while advancing patient care globally.

Responsibilities

• Lead human factors and usability strategies from concept through post-market support across product lines
• Collaborate with R&D, regulatory, clinical, and quality teams to evaluate solutions and assess user impact
• Prepare usability engineering documentation including task analyses, risk assessments, test reports, and regulatory submissions
• Mentor engineers and supervise third-party contractors on human factors projects and deliverables
• Act as internal expert on human factors principles and continuously improve HF processes aligned with standards

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Human Factors Engineering, Usability Engineering, Cognitive Science, Anthropology, or Biomedical Engineering
• Minimum 5 years human factors, usability engineering, or medical device product development experience
• Proficiency with human factors engineering process including research, risk assessment, and regulatory submissions
• Expertise in planning, executing, and documenting usability testing and user studies
• Demonstrated knowledge of IEC 62366 standard and FDA human factors guidance
• Understanding of ISO 14971 and IEC 62304 standards
• Willingness to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally
